What a party!  Lauraine Snelling visited Drayton as our guest speaker for a banquet on April 27, 2006.  It was a very busy day of events with the proclamation of “Blessing”. Drayton is not Blessing, and Blessing is not Drayton.  But, Drayton is in Blessing, and Blessing is in Drayton.  Watch for the signs! 

The OCTHS bookstore in the Valley News & Views building has Lauraine Snelling’s latest books.  These books, autographed by Ms Snelling, are available for you to purchase, so pick up your copy today.   

“Paddling Through The Past” will be the event to attend in Riverfest 2006 – July 13 to 16.    Did you see “A River Runs Beside It” in 2003?  You must not miss this one. Plans are for three performances of this historical pageant which was written by Saralee Hoselton.  Learn and reminisce about events that have taken place right here in Drayton.  If you are interested in helping with this production, contact one of the officers of the Society.  This is an opportunity for you and your family to participate in this event. 

Ox Cart Trails Historical Society will be serving the Home Made Pie and Ice Cream Social on Saturday, July 15 at Riverfest.  The museum will be open for the public during that weekend.  It is always open upon request.  Call one of the officers. The annual meeting is scheduled for that Sunday, July 16. 

The Society will be working at the museum on Wednesday June 7 at 4:30 to 6:30 pm.  There are some new additions to our museum and new displays to put up.  Stop in to see what we have done and help us document these items and activities.
