The Ox Cart is Rolling!

Ox Cart Trails Historical Society recently hosted a “Blessing Day” at Hastings Landing Restaurant.  Since many of us had not waited on tables in an establishment for many years, if at all, it was a great experience. We also had several non-members helping us out throughout the day.  Not everything went exactly as planned since we ran out of Klub early in the evening and perhaps at times the cooks were frustrated with the way we wrote out the orders.  But, we “winged” it!  Tracy and Christine were pleased with the day and assured us that they would continue to be open some evenings during the week in the future.   The purpose for the Society hosting this day was to support our local restaurant by getting the community to support it and let you, the public, know that you don’t have to be a “senior citizen” to belong to the Historical Society.  Members donated over 100 hours to this project.  Considering the generous tips from those that enjoyed the meals, the Society thanks you for your support. And, Hastings Landing thanks you! 

We have two log cabins to get ready for you to visit.  We do have grants to help with these expenses but have deadlines.  One grant includes signage for the museum grounds and the city.  Do you have any spare time to help? 

Supper At The Soddy is scheduled for July 19, 2008. We are in the planning stage for this project; so, if you would like to help out, let us know.
